The Truth Hardware (AmesburyTruth) 20117 snubber is a white, heavy gauge steel window snubber that keeps a large sash pressed against its weatherseal when the window is closed. It screws to the side jamb of the frame, and its curved lip hooks over the edge of the sash as the window closes, so the sash can't bow outward. Truth uses snubbers to keep tall casement windows and wide awning windows from bowing, and notes they also help the top and bottom rails of double-hung windows seal. Often called a sash snubber or window snubber.
On a casement window, Truth recommends a snubber at the centre of the hinge side whenever the sash tends to bow outward at the centre in the closed position, and notes that adding one may raise the window's negative air pressure rating. The 20117 has no insert. If the sash has a clad exterior, use one of Truth's snubbers with a PVC insert (10325 or 10390) instead, so the cladding isn't marred.
